In June 2017, Fairview welcomed the HealthEast care system into the Fairview family.

In partnership with the University of Minnesota, Fairview is committed to participating in nation-leading research and educating tomorrow’s physicians and health care professionals. We serve patients from across the state of Minnesota, the upper Midwest and beyond. In addition to our employed physicians, we work closely with the academic physicians at University of Minnesota Physicians and with Fairview Physician Associates, a network of independent physicians.

Since 1997 academic medicine has been embodied in Minnesota by the partnership between the University of Minnesota, University of Minnesota Physicians and Fairview Health Services.

University of Minnesota Academic Health Center consists of six schools and colleges that educate and train the next generation of researchers, physicians and other health care professionals.

University of Minnesota Physicians is a group practice with more than 800 physicians and 1,600 health care professionals and staff, including members of the Medical School's faculty.
